KULANDILA CAMP

Kulandila Camp is situated on the magnificent banks of the Luangwa River backing onto a lagoon. The camp was designed for leisure. Set amongst the towering Lala palms and lush vegetation, you can look up and feel a true sense of peace.

Four elevated tents are linked by distinct pathways which allow you to meander to communal areas. The main area backs on to the lagoon and faces the Luangwa river. There is an adjoining swimming pool and viewing decks with vast vistas of the Luangwa. With an al-fresco style dining area, we incorporate comfy living spaces and a cosy bar area. Large leather chairs, colonial style furniture and brass finishes transport you to real, authentic safari.

PROPERTY DETAILS

The traditional safari style tents offering approximately 460 square feet of indoor floor space are set on a wooden platform with an adjoining veranda. This combines with gorgeous white linen, textured cushions and oiled teak furniture. The outdoor slipper bath provides an oasis to unravel your thoughts and soak in the sights and sounds of the nearby river. Each tent is made up of single beds, which are combined to form a king configuration and can easily be separated to form twin beds.

The camp provides a close-to-nature experience and is perfect for adventurous travellers seeking luxury. The area has patches of riparian thicket, but the landscape here is more historical floodplains and dambos making it a sought-after ecosystem for a variety of wildlife.

THE CUISINE

Our menus are created from the Sungani kitchen and again, we aim for simple and locally sourced wherever possible. We will accommodate any dietary or nutritional requirements. Please advise your agent or our reservations team in advance.

  • A scrumptious continental breakfast is on offer early morning or something warm and cooked can be ordered from the kitchen.
  • Lunch is always a beautiful buffet with fresh and hearty salads, homemade breads, and meats.
  • At Kulandila we also explore the more traditional on the fire cooking and there is a real family and friends feel to the dining experience.
  • The bar opens mid-morning and serves a limited cocktail/mocktail menu, fine wines, beers, and spirits. There is a tea and coffee bar where you can help yourself or one our team will be able to assist you throughout the day.

ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCES
